PIA adds another Airbus A320 to its fleet

F.P. Report

KARACHI: Airbus A320, the second aircraft of this year, arrived Thursday in Pakistan from Sharjah to be added to the fleet of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

According to the PIA sources, the aircraft is equipped with new seats and modern and comfortable cabins which will improve the travel facilities.

“The aircraft will be operated on domestic, regional and Gulf routes,” a PIA spokesman said.

“The aircraft has been acquired on a six-year dry lease at the end of which the PIA may take ownership of the aircraft after mutual consent,” he added.

It merits a mention here that the PIA had tendered for the acquisition of the aircrafts last year out of which two aircraft have reached Pakistan this year and two more will reach the country in the next few days.

After the addition of these aircrafts, the number of Airbus A320 aircrafts will become 14 in the PIA fleet.

The first aircraft had arrived in Pakistan on April 29 last, and it is now part of the flight operations of the national airline.
