Saudi Arabia issues new guidelines for pilgrims

F.P. Report

RIYADH: The authorities in Saudi Arabia have issued a new set of guidelines for the people arriving in the holy land from around the world for the pilgrimage, on Tuesday.

According to the notification issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), it would be mandatory for the pilgrims to follow these guidelines.

These guidelines say that a pilgrim should not be more than 65 years of age; that he or she should have received the doses of the coronavirus vaccine approved by the government of his or her country; that a pilgrim should have tested negative for the virus 48 hours before leaving for Saudi Arabia.

GACA has made it clear that the entry of the pilgrims not complying with these directions will be banned.

The Saudi aviation authority has conveyed to all international airlines, including the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), to make sure the passengers follow these guidelines; or otherwise they (airlines) will be fined.
