3-year UAE residency visas being offered with Ras Al Khaimah gaming business packages

Packages start from Dhs7,725, and business owners are being offered the same renewal rate for the lifetime of their business.

The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has introduced gaming business setup packages that covers 18 core and support service activities.

It also announced a limited-time offer this week whereby individuals can set up an their gaming business and obtain 3-year UAE residency visas, with packages stating from Dhs7,725.

Furthermore, the business owners will have the same renewal rate of the package for the lifetime of their business.

Investors can select up to three activities in their primary licence with access to RAKEZ Compass Coworking Centre that offers either open or private workstations with the opportunity to network and collaborate with like-minded professionals.

The package is available for investors across the gaming value-chain including software and hardware developers, publishers, streaming and support services providers, reported state news agency WAM.

Our aim is to be the launchpad for the gaming enthusiasts that helps them turn their talent into a thriving business, whether it is game development, game publishing, streaming or distribution. The e-gaming business set-up package has been designed to support starting entrepreneurs, not only with a licence but with the right ecosystem to grow their business. We do this through our coworking hub which is the ideal platform to meet individuals who share their passion,” said Ramy Jallad, group CEO of RAKEZ.

Another emirate in the UAE also announced plans this week to set up a gaming hub. Twofour54 in Abu Dhabi has launched a new initiative to bring together various organisations to build a gaming and esports ecosystem in the emirate. Dubbed Abu Dhabi Gaming (AD Gaming), the project is supported by Unity Technologies, Flash Entertainment, UAE Pro League, Emirates Esports Association and the Media Zone Authority.

AD Gaming has also announced that 15 new gaming and esports businesses will be joining Yas Creative Hub when it opens in Q4 2021, including the Emirates Esports Association, Boss Bunny, Kashkool Games, Khousouf Games and RobocomVR amongst others.
