LOS ANGELES (Agencies): The LA Clippers ended the Utah Jazz’s nine-game winning streak in the NBA with a 116-112 victory in California late Friday.
2021 All-Star Starter Kawhi Leonard scored 29 points to play a vital role in the win.
Clippers guard Lou Williams scored 19 points, and Marcus Morris Sr. and Patrick Beverley racked up 17 points each.
Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell produced 35 points to be the game’s top scorer but could not avoid the loss.
Croatian small forward Bojan Bogdanovic scored 23 points for the Jazz. Utah point guard Jordan Clarkson boasted 19 points.
The Jazz’s French center Rudy Gobert got 8 points as well as 15 rebounds.
Despite the loss, the Jazz lead the Western Conference with 24 wins and six losses.
In the Western Conference, the Clippers have a 22-9 win/loss record, making them third in the Western standings.
Embiid carries 76ers, scoring 50 points against Bulls
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid scored a career-high 50 points for his team to fuel a 112-105 victory against the Chicago Bulls.
Dominating the game in Philadelphia, Embiid also had 17 rebounds.
Zach LaVine, the Bulls shooting guard, scored 30 points.
The 76ers are leading the Eastern Conference with 20 wins and 10 losses in the regular season.
The Bulls are in the number nine spot in the East with 12 wins but 16 losses.
Nuggets’ Murray sets career record with 50 points
Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray had a historic night, scoring a career-best 50 points in a 120-103 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Murray scored 50 points against the Cavaliers without a free throw.
Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets’ Serbian center, made a triple-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Colin Sexton racked up 23 points for the Cavaliers and Jarrett Allen scored 20.
Cedi Osman, the Cavaliers’ Turkish small forward, completed the game with 11 points, six rebounds and seven assists.
